The Pastoral Department at UPS held a meeting last November 23rd with students who would like to be part of the UPS-Guayaquil Pastoral Department and help those less fortunate.

This meeting was held thanks to previous meetings at the beginning of period 45, at these meetings students who were interested in building a fairer and peaceful society were asked to join Pastoral.

There were 42 students from different majors who decided to cooperate with the University's Pastoral Department and help vulnerable sectors.

With the slogan "Together we can change" the Pastoral department wants to get people involved and fulfill the University's mission statement which is to educate students to become " (…) honest citizens and good Christians, with academic and research capabilities that can contribute to local and national sustainable development"  (Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, 2014, pág. 23).
