UPS presented the play "Las Montañas de Don Patagonia"
The play "Las Montañas de Don Patagonia, la vida del Padre Alberto María de Agostini" performed by the Assemblea Teatro, Teatro Stabile di innovazione" from Italy took place in the University P. Carlos Crespi Theater. The play describes the life of a Salesian missionary, Alberto María de Agostini, who arrived to Patagonia to fulfill his mission: evangelize the people who lived there. The play tells the story of how he faced and overcame difficult times.
The play represents Alberto María de Agostini's climbing spirit and his love for nature. He permanently took long treks in the mountains; this is why he was known as Don Patagonia.
Father Alberto María de Agostini was an eclectic missionary, geographer, climber, photographer and anthropologist. He was called "Don Patagonia" by the very few people who lived in this place that was overburdened with ice and continuous winds and frequently buried by apocalyptic snowfall.
The actors displayed great ability and professionalism that impressed the audience during the play which was presented by Universidad Politécnica Salesiana and the Italian embassy.
