The mechanical engineering undergraduate program in our branch campus in Cuenca, with the support of the UNESCO chairs program assistive technologies for inclusive education, provided "Fundación Hope" a multi-sensory ventilation sytem.

Fundacion Hope is a non profit organization in the city of Cuenca that was established six years ago. It treats people with disabilities and their families. Due to an agreement signed between the university and this foundation, the university analyzed several options, then designed and chose an appropriate work team to create a ventilation system that would provide an appropriate setting needed for therapies.

Fernando Moscoso, vice president of our branch campus in Cuenca, thanked everyone who was involved in this project and stated that this is the main responsibility of academia, put knowledge at the service of society, especially vulnerable groups.

Oswaldo Zhimnay, president of Fundación Hope, thanked the university for always being aware of the needs of vulnerable sectors and said: "today our children, teens and adults with disabilities will have their therapies in a comfortable environment".
