UPS and the Ministry of Public Health sign an agreement
Representatives from our branch campus in Quito and from the Ministry of Public Health signed an inter institutional agreement that will enable students majoring in nursing to carry out internships in 16 health centers and in the “Hospital Básico de Cayambe”
The agreement was signed by Mercy Almeida, representative of the ministry of public health, and Maria Sol Villagomez vice president of our branch campus in Quito. The signing of the agreement was attended by Javier Herran, director of the Salesian Community in Cayambe; Carmen Vasquez, director of the nursing undergraduate program; Nancy Bastidas, director of the community engagement department; Renzzo Vasconez, Pedro Moncayo and Jefferson Perez.
“The Nursing undergraduate program is a response to society’s needs, especially communities in rural areas, facilitating their access to education. Very soon we will have nurses with scientific knowledge, values, and ethical principles that provide comprehensive health services and that contribute to individual, family, and community health care,” said Carmen Vasquez.
Rubid Necpas, student, stressed the importance of this agreement because it will strengthen training for the 80 students who are currently majoring in nursing.
