Culture, music and tradition during the Inti Raymi Festival

Our branch campus in Cuenca held the “Inti Raymi” festival which stresses the importance of the Inca empire and culture. The celebration was attended by university officials, special guests and sudents.
One of the activities organized by the Education majors and the Cultural Department was the Academic Conference: Inti Raymi, where people discussed the meaning and importance of the chakana, which was later held in the university courtyards, as ancestral Andean symbol.
After the conference, they held the traditional “Pampa mesa”, an ancestral ritual where the university community shared typical food. The ritual represents Community and unity since the food is placed on a tablecloth which is placed on the floor. The Folkloric Dance Group in our branch campus in Cuenca also performed during this celebration.
The Inti Raymi Festival enriches and creates a significant experience where attendees learn more about identity and cultural history.
