The Automotive engineering undergraduate program educates students to become professionals who have great academic and human excellence and are capable of innovating the automotive industry and transport management; professionals who can help change the production model and systematic production with social sense.

Occupational Outlook

An automotive engineer can advise public and private institutions on the control of environmental pollution caused by a fleet automotive. They can also work in institutions that certify, evaluate and control the active, passive and tertiary safety of cargo and passenger transport vehicles, both imported and assembled in the country. They develop projects that seek the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation with electric and hybrid propulsion systems; capture, adapt and develop automotive technology to increase the technological level of the national industry, as well as manage companies or industries related to the automotive sector and other related areas. 



  1. An ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.

  2. An ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.

  3. An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.

  4. An ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.

  5. An ability to function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.

  6. An ability to develop and evaluate business opportunities in order to generate entrepreneurial projects.

Within a term of approximately 3 to 5 years after graduation, professionals in the field of automotive engineering will consolidate their work experience by achieving the following objectives:


PEO 1: Integrate or lead multidisciplinary teams for problem-solving and addressing needs in the field of automotive engineering and related areas, with ethical, professional, and environmental responsibility.


PEO 2: Resolve maintenance, diagnostic, and service issues in public, private, or entrepreneurial institutions, applying knowledge in automotive engineering.


PEO 3: Utilize technical knowledge and practical skills to provide consultancy, service, and support in public and private institutions aligned with automotive technological developments.


PEO 4: Acquire new knowledge and skills from their professional practice or graduate studies.
