Program Overview

The Computing program educates students to become engineers who can develop software, use artificial intelligence, create technological infrastructure related to software, hardware and computer networks. They enable technological changes in any organization because they are capable of managing and creating web and mobile applications, implementing Smart Cities, managing the Internet of Things, Big Date and 4.0 industry.

Occupational Outlook

A Computer Science engineer will be able to work in the creation, implementation and support of computer applications on physical or virtual servers, create solutions through the use of operating systems, programming languages, databases that are stored in the cloud or in virtual machines that recreate real environments. They will also be able to run applications that allow interaction with Internet services and mobile applications, as well as create innovative solutions to problems in society.

  1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
  6. Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
