The Scientific Education and Information Research Group (GIEDIC for its acronym in Spanish) aims to solve scientific problems related to education under the guidelines of Ecuadorian legislation. Its research is related to education and technologies, as well as to educational policies and teacher training.

The areas addressed by the group, which derive from Education and Scientific Information, are aimed at professional training in Education and Pedagogy, culture in the use of scientific information in the university, the design of Virtual Learning Environments in the university, as well as sociology applied to Education and Popular Education.
