The release of the book "Programación Orientada a Objetos con Java y UML" or "Object Oriented Programming with Java and UML"

Universidad Politécnica Salesiana held a ceremony to release the book entitled “Programación orientada a objetos con Java y UML”  or “Object oriented Programming with Java and UML” written by Andrea Plaza and Mauricio Ortiz.  This cultural academic event took place in the Monseñor Leonidas ProañoAuditorium, it was attended by the main university authorities led by its president Javier Herrán Gomez and special guests.

At the beginning of the ceremony Father Javier Herrán Gomez congratulated the authors saying that writing a book requires a lot of time and dedication. Andrea Plaza and Mauricio Ortiz have found the time to study, teach, and write the book. He said the authors had done a great job and that now students had a book they could turn to to learn about Java and UML.

Next the Abya Ayala publishing house President, Antropologist, José Juncosa gave details on how the book had been made and the process of writing and then publishing a book. He encouraged teachers and students to write a book on any of the majors Universidad Politécnica Salesiana offers.

Vladimir Robles, teacher and researcher, was in charge of presenting the book. He highlighted the authors’ work saying they had cautiously used language and terms that students would easily understand, as well as using technical terms.

Andrea Plaza and Mauricio Ortiz explained their motivation to write the book and the support they had received from the authorities at the university, especially from engineers Diego Quinde and Bertha Tacuri, directors of the Systems Engineering major in the University. They also said they wrote the book because students needed a much more accessible and simple book to consult.

People who attended this event praised the content of the book; they congratulated and encouraged the authors to continue writing because it generates research.
