Dissemination and impact of scientific publications

Members of the publications board and of the university's communication and culture department attended a training course on competencies to create editorial policies and learn about the dissemination and impact of scientific publications.
About 25 people, workers and editors of the journals: ALTERIDAD, INGENIUS, LA GRANJA, RETOS, SOPHIA and UNIVERSITAS attended the course. It is worth highlighting that LA GRANJA is the first Ecuadorian journal that has been included in SCOPUS.
The journals have been indexed to the Emerging Source Citation Index of the Web of Science (WOS), SciELO, ERI+, REDALYC, MIAR, DIALNET, DOAJ, QOM, REDIB, EBSCO, LATINDEX, and many repositories and libraries worldwide.
Dr. Ignacio Aguaded, director and editor of the journal "COMUNICAR" (indexed to the Journal citation reports- JCR-Q1) which was the second most cited Spanish journal in 2018, led the course along with Rafael Repiso and Angel Hernando.
The publications board is made up by Javier Herrán (UPS president), Luis Álvarez (General Editor); José Juncosa (Abya Yala - UPS), René Unda, Saúl Uribe (Universitas); Jaime Padilla, Napoleón Esquivel (Alteridad); Sheila Serrano, Sabino Armenise (La Granja); Floralba Aguilar, Jefferson Moreno (Sophia); Jorge Freire, Javier Carrera (Retos); John Calle, Marlon Quinde (Ingenius), Paola Ingavélez (virtual journal Cátedra UNESCO); Mónica Ruiz (Informativo NOTIUPS); Betty Rodas (UTOPÍA magazine) and Hernán Hermosa (Abya Yala – UPS Publising House).
During this meeting, which was held in Quito, Andrea De Santis, former Web Editor, thanked the university community, Javier Herran and all the editors. He will now be in charge of the communication undergraduate program in the university branch campus in Cuenca.
