Protection and good environmental practices in the Aguarongo Forest

The university's publishing house "Abya Yala" presented the books "Guia de Flora" and "Guia de Fauna" in the Aguarango Forest, written by Juan Loyola Illescas, professor in the environmental engineering undergraduate program.
The author spoke about the studies carried out by the Biodiversity Research Group along with students and external collaborators. The images in the book show the importance of protecting the environment and having good environmental practices.
The Aguarango Forest is located in the province of Azuay in three cantons and within the districts of Jadan, Shimad, Gualaceo, San Jose, Santa Ana and San Bartolome.
Loyola said that "the aim of the book is to strengthen the rights of nature and find ways to protect the forest and nature"
The book "Guia de Flora" contains information about flora species in the forest. The book "Guia de Fauna" creates awareness on the importance of caring for the environment and respecting species.
Luis Tobar, acting president of the University, congratulated the author for the knowledge, time and dedication for writing the books, aimed at creating a generation of professionals that will protect nature.
