Santiago Berrezueta, fomer computer engineering student in our branch campus in Cuenca and a PhD student at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) is currently working on his thesis which is aimed at creating smart environments that can contribute to the innovation of therapy for children with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity.

Berrezuera is working on his project with the support of the UNESCO chairs program, assistive technologies for inclusive education, which is located in our branch campus in Cuenca.

The activities he is carrying out include the design, construction and implementation of a Robotic assistant called "Atent@" which combines image recognition algorithms, human-machine interaction and its interoperability in environments. through the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm.

The research is supervised by Maria Luisa Marting and Ivan Pau de la Cruz, professors at UPM, and the support of members of the UNESCO chairs program, Fernando Pesantez, general vice president of our university; and Vladimir Robles, director of the computer engineering undergraduate program.
