The "Ando Yendo" theater group during their performance

It was a great night for UPS-Guayaquil when the UPS-Quito theater group Ando Yendo presented the play "The importance of being Ernest"; the play is directed by Professor Juan Pablo Acosta.

"The importance of being Ernest" is based on two young aristocrats in the 1890's that have the same pseudonym (Ernest) and fall in love with two women, which later causes several problems. The comedy is based on false identities; Jack Worthing who lives with his friend Cecil Cardew, has a double life. With Cecila he's himself but when he arrives to London he becomes a fictional brother called Ernest whose qualities could attract any woman.

Students, professors and overall public attended the play and enjoyed a great performance which was full of creativity and professionalism, as well as excellent lighting, scenography and apparel.

The play was held on August 20th and 21st and was led by Juan Pablo Acosta, a professor and an artist. German Calvache was in charge of lighting, Leonardo Nieto and Maria Rosa Bonilla were in charge of scenography, Bertha Siza of apparel and Christian Quezada of music.

Here are the actors: Max Espinoza (Jack Worthing), Bryan Enríquez (Algernón Moncrieff) Jonathan Vásquez (Reverendo Canónico Ascot) Jonathan Castro (Lane), Karla Sánchez (Lady Bracknell), Irina Jaramillo (Gwendolen Fairfax), Michelle Gortaire (Cecilia Cardew), Scarlet Cisneros (Miss Prism, institutriz), Josué Gómez (Merriman).
