Monsignor Luis Cabrera was named new Archbishop of Guayaquil

Pope Francis named Luis Cabrera the new Archbishop of Guayaquil, he will replace Antonio Arregui. The news was made official through a press release in  Guayaquil's Archdioceses.
Antonio Arregui, presented his resignation since according to the Catholic church he has reached the age limit accepted by the church. Pope Francis accepted Antonio Arregui's resignation and congratulated his work. 

Luis Cabrera received his Franciscan habit on October 1st, 1975. A year later, on september 24th he did his temporary religious profession , on september 4th, 1982 his solemn profession and on september 8th, 1983 he was declared a Priest.

Monsignor Luis Cabrera has had several positions; a teacher, member of the Franciscans, advisor of the Franciscan Friars and others.

Through a letter, Luis Cabrera expressed his gratitude to the Church of Cuenca and Guayaquil. He thanked everyone in Cuenca for their hospitality and kindness during his term as the city's Archbishop.
