The university's electronic engineering major in Guayaquil held the conference titled "Industrial automation in manufacturing processes and sugar factories" in order to encourage students to create applications using programmable logic controllers.

The conference was led by Adolfo Villacreses, Rockwell Automation representative. Rockwell supplies automation solutions and industrial information.

For Byron Lima, organizer, this event is very important since students can have a different perspective because it allows them to see applications used in their profession.
"The aim is that students from all majors attend the conferences since having updated knowledge is very important", said Lima.
