Flérida Escandón, Angel Godoy and Mario Novillo, business administration students in the university's branch in Guayaquil, won 2nd place in the Virtual Business Tournament, an initiative by the Junior Achievement Foundation, an international organization that trains entrepreneurs through educational business programs.

The competition requires participants to make decisions regarding business strategies through a virtual simulator which asks participants to introduce a virtual product called "holo-generadores" in the market. UPS students were asked to make decisions to correctly manage a business that creates holograms.

Monkey Inc. is the name of the virtual company made up by these UPS students who asked Professor Susana Lam for advice. There were 72 teams with over 220 students from universities in Guayaquil and Quito.

Professor Lam said: "professors are here to support students in different competitions and the recently inaugurated Coworking is what the university wants for its students, a place for innovative pedagogical practice"
