Intercultural Education presented the talk "Knowledge in the classroom"

On Friday, April 10th, Maria Antonia Manresa who holds a masters degree in education philosophy and is currently studying a doctoral program in intercultural education gave a conference on "Knowledge in the classroom" in the university's José Carollo auditorium.
This event was organized by the university's intercultural education major in order to discuss the educational proposal presented by Manresa after her experience in Pastaza. The speaker said she wanted to test how the intercultural bilingual education system connects with other ways of understanding knowledge.
"To talk about the incorporation of other knowledge and to write objectives is easy, to put them in practice is another story" said Manresa whose doctoral research is "Political and epistemological implications in diversity"
Professor Manresa invited Intercultural Bilingual Education professors to find ways to articulate knowledge, ways of speaking and ways of thinking. There is the need for a curriculum that connects knowledge from the community with other ways of knowing and facing the world.
Finally, she highlighted that Intercultural Bilingual Education policies and aims need to be constructed from education, the state and communities in order to connect several knowledge.
