The university's women's soccer team from Cuenca "Carneras" won two local championships; one with their second team (where players are still learning how to play the game well) in a competition where there were 10 teams. Their skills, physical condition and attitude helped them win the final game 1-0.

While the "Carneras" first team won the championship in a competition played by 12 teams. In the finals they beat "Fox" 5-1. The team showed great soccer skills and physical condition during the entire competition thanks to their daily training in the university's soccer field with their Coach Edisson Mendez. 

The coach was very pleased with the results and said "these girls put parties and family meetings aside, they train hard and therefore have positive results. Their effort is rewarded with championships"
