Inauguration of the Padre Carlos Crespi monument

In Cuenca, from April 30^th to May 30^th, there will be a tribute to Father Carlos Crespi with a program called "Father Crespi, life, spirituality- science. A reunion with the Apostle of the Poor".

As part of the program, a monument to honor Carlos Crespi was revealed in a Salesian school named after him. This event was attended by the main authorities of the Salesian congregation, students, parents, special guests and overall public.  

The director of "Padre Carlos Crespi" school opened the ceremony by saying: "there are human beings that are born to serve humanity, there are men that live in the hearts of people, one of these privileged men was Father Carlos Crespi, for this reason we are together today, to remember and celebrate the presence of Father Carlos Crespi Croci in the glory of God". He also said that Father Crespi was an exceptional person who guided and educated several generations, and worked tirelessly in evangelization and education. He was loyal to Don Bosco's motto "educate good Christians and honest citizens". During his life in Cuenca he was devoted to educating children and youth. He established a museum and fulfilled his sacred Christian ideals.

He finished by saying "Today we have the commitment to continue and to strengthen the proposal of Salesian education that Father Carlos Crespi created and carried out for many years.

Father Luciano Bellini was in charge of revealing the monument; he said that this event was important for those who know the life of Father Carlos Crespi as well as for those who will now start to know him. He highlighted the life of the Salesian priest who is also known as the "Apostle of the Poor".

The monument was blessed by the Maria Auxiliadora priest, Father Luiggi Ricciardi.
