UPS professor and researcher Rene Unda Lara, also the coordinator of the Childhood, Adolescence and Youth Research Group (CINAJ for its acronym in Spanish), was invited by Universidad Nacional de la Plata from Argentina to participate in the forum titled "Generational Inequalities in times of democratic configurations". The forum was held during the 5th Congress on Youth, Cultural Means and Industries, which was organized by the Faculty of Journalism and Communication in Universidad Nacional de la Plata on the 16th and 17th of August.

This forum was one of the activities being held before the 2nd Biennal of Childhood and the Youth that will be held in November in the city of Manizales, Colombia. Professor Unda's presentation was titled "Cuestiones sociojuveniles en la encrucijada actual de los gobiernos progresistas en la región. Caso Ecuador".

Professor Unda is also the editor of the university's journal Universitas ( UPS Journal Universitas); he says that, from a generational perspective, one of the crucial dimensions for understanding gaps and integration is the importance of reflecting about the role of memory, which is not only that that divides the past, the present and the future with a time line, but from a historical problemitization of facts, processes and experiences that make up for the total of society.

Professor Unda proposes a look at inequalities, its relationships with political participation and its effects on the democracy of recent Ecuadorian history from three analysis points: the production of inequalities between 1979 and 2006 and from 2007; the participation of politics as participation of socially produced wealth through investment in education and health for young people.
