The mechatronics undergraduate program invites you to take part in a 40 hour seminar on lubricants for machines; the course will help participants identify the most suitable lubricant according to the lubrication process of the most common machines in industries. This will enable companies to optimize resources and increase their earnings. 

 

 

1. Concepts and basic principles of lubrication 

 

Introduction 

Functions of lubricants

Characteristics of lubricants

Additives and their functions in lubricants.

Storage, Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection.

 

2. Lubrication of machines

 

Bearing lubrication.

Lubrication for gearboxes, open gears, chains and cables.

Lubrication for air compressors.

Lubrication for hydraulic systems.

Lubrication for internal combustion engines.

Other types of lubricants.

Interpretation of technical data sheets of lubricant manufacturers.

Contamination and deterioration of lubricant in service - Laboratory analysis.

 

The seminar will be led by Fernando Araujo Rodriguez, mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in business administration, with experience in industrial
