The veterinary medicine undergraduate program educates students to become professionals with great knowledge and social responsibility demanded by society. They are trained to prevent and solve problems of production, welfare and animal health through traditional and innovative methods and technologies.

Occupational Outlook
A vet can work in the public or private sector taking into account that our country has high agricultural potential and the need to produce food while preserving biodiversity and animal welfare. They may also provide consulting, auditing and advisory services for the formulation of public health and environmental preservation regulations. They can work independently or in zoos, animal houses, animal rescue centers, as well as in private veterinary clinics and work on genetic improvement projects in public and private research centers
