Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS), the Chamber of industries, production and employment and the Ecuadorian – German Chamber of Commerce held a graduation ceremony for 39 students who took part in the Dual Education programs in industrial mechanics and industrial electricity.

UPS president Javier Herran congratulated the graduates and praised them for their wish to be better prepared and have new knowledge to face the job market. He emphasized the fact that the university will always support people's education.

Nelson Jara Cobos, director of the Dual Education Programs, was satisfied with the completion of an important training process that enabled the integral education of students in two places: the university with its classrooms, workshops and laboratories, and the training company, just like the German model.

The acting vice president of the university's branch in Cuenca, Bertha Tacuri, said that those who were part of this process are now celebrating and are satisfied with the completion of their goal. The manufacturing Vice President of Continental Tire Andina, Alk Weinrich, pointed out that, after overcoming several obstacles and a long term, in 2015 an agreement was reached to carry out this project and the result is reflected in this first promotion.

Andrés Robalino, executive director of CIPEM, said: "This afternoon, the productive - business sector of Cuenca is proud to meet a joint goal with academia. 39 students graduated thanks to their commitment to something totally different and innovative, getting involved in a strong dynamic of training between practice and theory".

The student with the best grade point average, Luis Godoy, spoke on behalf of his classmates, and said the ceremony is a demonstration of the excitement everyone has after completing their goal. He thanked the institutions that supported these dual education programs, the teachers and family members.
