The IEEE students branch, the Coworking StartUPS office, the IEEE-WIE in Ecuador and the pastoral department in our branch campus in Quito, held the 3rd “Women in Engineering” Meeting in order to create opportunities for inclusion and student participation.

The event also promotes the role of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. "This meeting empowered participants in the academic field, from the practical and dynamic part of engineering, and also allowed them to create ties and encourage a greater presence of women in these fields," said María Piñeiros, President of WIE-UPS.

 
The meeting was attended by 60 students from Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE, Escuela Politécnica del Chimborazo ESPOCH, Escuela Politécnica Nacional EPN, YACHAY, Universidad Técnica del Norte UTN and Universidad de las Américas UDLA.
