5 years of the automotive engineering undergraduate program in Quito

The university’s branch campus in Quito held a formal meeting to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the automotive engineering undergraduate program. The meeting was attended by university officials: Maria Sol Villagomez, vice president of our branch campus in Quito; Jaime Chela, director of the pastoral department; Fransisco Sanchez, Inspector of Salesians; Naun Tapia, director of Salesian Projects in Ecuador; Angel Paucar, director of the automotive engineering undergraduate program; Renato Fierro, director of the automotive engineering undergraduate program in Guayaquil; and Estefania Santillan, president of students’ union.
Also in attendance were professors, students, administrative staff and guests from several companies.
Angel Paucar spoke about all the academic achievements and events that have been held during the program’s first 5 years; “we have a great team of professors who are committed to their work and we now have the first promotion of automotive engineers.”
Estefania Santillan spoke about how the laboratories have been updated according new academic needs. She thanked professors and officials for their work towards academic excellence.
During the ceremony, a special recognition was awarded to Juan Cardenas, UPS president, and Maria Sol Villagomez for their continuous support to the program. Paucar was awarded a plaque to recognize his work as the director of the program.
After the awards were handed out, they revealed the new laboratories: Maintenance and Dynamics, Autotronics, Injection and Powertrain and Automotive Translation Systems
