A new book on the challenges of Salesian education

The IUS Education Group, made up by professionals from Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS), presented the book "Desafíos de la educación salesiana: experiencias y reflexiones desde las IUS", which was published by the Abya Yala – UPS Publishing House and coordinated by Maria Sol Villagomez, Renato Soffner, Alessio Rocchi and Luis Marquez.
The book contains the research results of three topics: human education, pastoral and youth; educational innovation and education; diversity and interculturality. These topics are presented throughout 17 articles, written by 27 professors from 7 IUS from Europe and America, which represent different perspectives regarding the challenges of Salesian higher education
Four authors are from Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS), Ecuador. One of the authors is Juan Cárdenas, with the research "Un modelo divergente de organización y gestión en una universidad multisedes: Caso UPS", an article on the internal reform of UPS and the impact on academic management as of 2008, the year in which faculties were eliminated and areas of knowledge were implemented.
The other three are Miriam Gallego, Wilson Torres and Jessica Rivadeneira. They wrote about "Acompañamiento entre pares: Una práctica de la pedagogía salesiana", an article that describes the work of the Inclusive Education Group (GHG) since 2015 and which seeks to generate experiences that allow students with disabilities to have equal opportunities in higher education.
The IUS Education Group is an academic network made up of professionals from more than twenty Salesian higher education institutions in America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and was created in order to promote reflection about educational issues of Salesian nature.
