On October 13th, the university's branch in Guayaquil started a new semester (academic period 49) for the following majors: business administration, accounting, auditing, communication, industrial engineering, electronics and automation, electricity and computing. "UPS has always been known for its academic and technological excellence that is why I am happy to be part of this salesian family", said DiegoTandazo, communication students.

To welcome all students, the university's students federation (FEUPS) will hold a theater festival on the 19th and 20th of October. "The aim of this event is to welcome students in a different and fun way", said Oswaldo Calle, coordinator of project management for the FEUPS.

 The university welcomes all youngsters that will major in different fields at UPS, they are now part of the salesian family. "I wish you a great semester and hope you study passionately and do research to find the truth to the mysteries of nature", said UPS President Javier Herran. 

Students who have still not enrolled, can do so until October 27th.
