On February 18th, the industrial engineering major at UPS-Guayaquil successfully held the "1st academic meetings on student research". Under their professors' guide, students presented 21 projects that demonstrated they are capable of working in their field by using the right methods and tools.

The research projects were evaluated by professors: Armando López, Iván Suárez and Carlos Aguilera. They graded the projects based on things such as if the projects were presented on time, if students complied with the right format, the research itself, the content, the conclusions and recommendations.

Here are the best projects:

Organic Chemistry:

This Project done by Mayra Alejandra Torres Sánchez, Danny Pomboza Yanez, Jefferson Joel Camacho Hidalgo, Roberto Francisco Garzón Morales, under the direction of professor Virgilio Ordóñez, tested the quality of water in "Estero Chorrón".  The research took place in Naranjito in the province of Guayas.

Industrial Safety:

There were two projects in this area, the first assessed risks in CASTROMAR company; it was done by  Douglas Pilataxi Ortiz and Joaquín Zambrano Figueroa. The other, done by Mishel Santillán under the direction of professor Virgilio Ordoñez,  studied the risks of eliminating fluorescent waste.

Dynamics II:

This Project titled ""Grúa reductora de velocidad con motor reversible y engranes"  was done by Odalys Castilo, Diana Portugal, Raúl Rodríguez, Marcelo Bastidas and Bryan Martínez under the direction of professor Fabiola Terán.

Professor Raul Alvarez Guale, industrial engineering director, awarded these projects a plaque of recognition for being the best during this event.
