In order to establish and encourage inter university cooperation in academia, research, mobility and culture, in November UPS and Universidad de La Salle (Colombia)  will sign an agreement that will benefit students and professors from both higher education institutions. 

 

The agreement was presented by UPS officials Andres Bayolo, vice president of the university's branch campus in Guayaquil, and Bernardo Salgado, Head of International Relations. The agreement will include scholarships for post graduate studies.

 

According to Daniela Sierra, representative of Universidad de La Salle, the programs are:

 

- Reciprocity scholarships for foreigners in Colombia

 

- ICETEX Scholarships

 

- Summer Academy 2018 (Summer Academy)

 

The first two consist of scholarships for the completion of postgraduate studies offered by the Colombian state, while the latter will allow students and teachers to participate in academic and cultural activities in English for two weeks, an activity coordinated directly with the University of La Salle.

 

This agreement will allow applicants, according to the rules of the calling, to choose scholarships in programs of: Administrative and Accounting Sciences, Economic and Social Sciences, Philosophy and Humanities, Education Sciences, Habitat Sciences, Health Sciences, Sciences Basic and Agricultural Sciences.

 

They also held a dialogue about the research lines that each university manages, which will allow future cooperation in this field. In addition, the possibility of establishing a consortium in publications that will allow professors of both institutions to disseminate scientific work.
