The community engagement department in our branch campus in Guayaquil signed an agreement with “Epico”, a public company from the municipality in charge of innovation and competitiveness. The aim of the agreement is to contribute to academic and economic development in the city. 

The agreement will enable the university to create community engagement projects that will strengthen students’ knowledge and skills which will help create a better society.  

Monica Marmol, director of the community engagement department, stressed the importance of the agreeemnt: “This agreement is fundamental to transform academia, research and community engagement.”

Felix Chang, manager of “Epico” stressed the commitment of the university for the city’s development. “UPS is showing its leadership in entrepreneurship, innovation and development. This agreement will strengthen the economy of Guayaquil through academia.”

The work between UPS and “Epico” represent initiatives that will strengthen economic growth and academic progress in the city.
