The electrical engineering undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil awarded students from the electrical engineering salesian group certificates for having attended training sessions which were led by former students.

"Hands on practice is very important for students, every day at the university they are exposed to theoretical content, but it is necessary to complement that information with practice", said David Gomezcoello, UPS alumni and one of the speakers.

The courses were based on the following topics:

- Quality of electrical energy

- Grounding systems

These activities help students better understand the work they will carry out once the finish their studies and start working. "We can use the laboratories to practice and that really helps learn more", said Luis Morales, electrical engineering student.

In order to continue enhancing students' knowledge, the director of the undergraduate program said that in October there will be more training courses, this time on high voltage.

There will also be activities where students will talk about their experiences to first year students. "These talks help our future engineers learn more about what to expect in the labor market and be more prepared to face it when the get there",, said David Cardenas, professor.
