56 students from different undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Quito were awarded international Cambridge Certificates for A2, B1 and B2 levels, which demonstrate people's knowledge of English. Thanks to an agreement signed by UPS and the University of Cambridge, we are an authorized institution for these exams.

Fernando Pesantez, general vice president of UPS, spoke about the importance of these certificates: "It can be summarized in one work: differentiation. The certificates recognize skills and ability to use this language, which connects us globally. Congratulations to all the students who decided to take a step further in their education and have internationally recognized certificates."

Maria Sol Villagomez, vice president of our branch campus in Quito, stated that the certificates contribute to the university's internationalization, which is important for academia and research. "The certificates not only help students in the national and international job market, it is important for further studies like master's or PhD degrees, as well as an opportunity to get scholarships or go on exchange programs to over 20,000 institutions that recognize this certificate", she said.

Adriana Guanuche, coordinator of the language institute in Quito, said that they have made big efforts to meet the requirements of the common European framework. Edwin Hernandez, student majoring in computing, said "this certificate provides a competitive advantage to face globalization. Communicating in a foreign language increases the opportunities of reaching better professional results."

Steven Tomkins, Cambridge representative in Ecuador, said: "the certificate you are being awarded demonstrates the world your ability to use English"
