The aim of the session was to give people updated information on safety issues. "These sessions are very important because we have to be prepared for any unexpected disaster", said Jimmy Arce, coordinator of safety, health and environment in Guayaquil.

The session was led by Wilfrido Rosales, who spoke about the importance of being prepared for any emergency. "UPS has great people who are willing to learn these topics", he said.

The topics were:

According to article 13, item 2 of the Regulations for the safety and health of workers and improvement of the environment (Reglamento de Seguridad y Salud de los Trabajadores y Mejoramiento del Medio Ambiente):

It is compulsory to attend courses on the control of disasters, risk prevention, rescue and first aid planned by the company or specialized agencies in the public sector. "This is necessary because in the coming days we will have several drills at the university where brigade members must respond according to established protocols," said Arce
