Representatives from the municipality of Guachapala and the university's communication major held a meeting to formalize and begin their agreement for UPS students' practicums. The meeting was held on February 15th and was presided by the mayor of Guachapala, Raul Delgado Orellana; Martin Morocho, in charge of the communication department of the municipality of Guachapala and UPS professors and students.

One of the aims of the agreement between UPS and the municipality of Guachapala is to position Guachapala as a tourist destination. In this regard, the university's communication major created the project titled: "Recuperación de la historia sociocultural del cantón Guachapala mediante productos comunicativos".

Starting on Monday, February 20th they will work on the following: management of social networks and website, institutional image and an online radio program that will be guided by the university's communication major.
