The architecture undergraduate program in our branch campuses in Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito held several conferences titled “City, architecture and territorial intelligence”; the aim was to present the contribution of artificial intelligence for urban planning, as well as new technologies for designing and building.

Students, researchers, workers of local governments and the general public took part of the conferences. The director of the architecture undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil said “the aim of the conferences is that participants exchange their thoughts on urban planning, art and architectural heritage, hence we will combine real practice with academia in order to benefit participants”.

Diego Guayasamin, architect specialized in advanced design, parameterization and digital manufacturing, spoke about current methods used to develop new techniques based on technology advances. “These events allow students to get involved with new techniques and knowledge and then put them into practice with academic projects or internships”, he said.

Steve Arias, student majoring in architecture in our branch campus in Guayaquil, said his enthusiasm for architecture has grown. “Since I was a kid, I have thought about creating projects with big beautiful buildings; I have great expectations of this undergraduate program”, he said
