The university's branch campus in Guayaquil held a closing ceremony for the AutoCAD course which was aimed at students from all engineering undergraduate programs who learned about 2D and 3D modelling. It was a 40 hour course, 20 on campus hours and 20 hours of autonomous work.

The course was organized by the electrical engineering program and was aimed at students who have not yet taken this subject. It is a very beneficial tool for students' professional lives.

In order to take part in the course students had to donate a toy which would later be donated to children in Solca. Every year the university contributes with several institutions which ask for donations; "we managed to collect the toy and take them to children at Solca which made kids very happy. We also hope students learnt a lot in the course", said Gary Ampuño, director of the electricity undergraduate program.

Maria del Cisne Suquitana, student majoring in electricity, said "the course was very beneficial, I'm going to use this tool during the entire semester. I can design an electrical system, create blueprints, it's a very important tool of my professional life and it was nice to have donated toys for children at Solca.

Juan Carlos Limones, one of the tutors in the course, said "I'm happy to have helped my classmates learn more about AutoCad and answer all their questions".

Every semester, the electrical engineering undergraduate program organizes courses and training sessions on several topics. The next course will be on MatLab and registration is already open.
