Carneras are the "Vive Fútbol" tournament champions

Universidad Politécnica Salesiana's women's soccer team in Cuenca, Carneras beat Ñusta  2-0 to become the  "Azuay Vive Fútbol Cup, II edition" champions.

This exciting game was played in the Cuartel Dávalos soccer field, where the salesian team showed great team and individual skills throughout the game. A good strategy allowed the team's forward, Sofia Sanchez, to score two goals which gave the team a comfortable lead and win.

"We were the best and that's why we won, it's due to team work in the field" said the game's scorer, Sofia Sanchez who also plays in the university's rugby team.

The team's participation in this tournament is part of its calendar before participating in the National Soccer Championship B series, due to start this August.

Next weekend Carneras will play a friendly match against Academia de Pichincha coached by Mabel Velarde, ex player of the Ecuadorian Women's soccer team. This match will also be a great chance for the players to show their skills and perhaps be considered to play in the Ecuadorian team that will compete in Copa America 2014 which will be played in our country.
