PACES Foundation hosted lunch for former Mayor Paúl Granda

The Salesian Foundation PACES hosted a fellowship lunch for former Cuenca mayor Paul Granda to thank him for his permanent support while in office.

The lunch was held at the Centro Organizativo Salesiano 9 de Octubre and attended by children, adolescents, and young adults from the Foundation as well as Universidad Politecnica Salesiana President Father Javier Herràn Gòmez, PACES Director Edgar Gordillo, and special guests.

The clinical psychologist at the Salesian center, Janeth Pesantez, said they have worked with the Municipality of Cuenca and its Social Development department during four years to assist working children, adolescents and young adults at high social risk in places like 9 de Octubre, Feria Libre, 10 de Agosto and Tres de Noviembre. She thanked all the support the Municipality of Cuenca has given PACES. She said it has helped the well-being of working children, adolescents and young adults.

PACES Director, Edgar Gordillo thanked the Municipality of Cuenca on behalf of the people at PACES for such valuable support given by former mayor Paùl Granda.

Former mayor Paúl Granda said it was an honor to have worked and been part of the apostolate the foundation carries out to fight for the rights of working children, adolescents, and young adults. He also said the foundation has provided academic and spiritual support and that this is a social commitment that cannot be neglected.

Father Javier Herràn Gòmez, UPS president, also thanked the former mayor for having helped the Salesian Foundation, PACES, provide children, adolescents and young adults better care.
