Rector UPS President was awarded  the "Guadalupe Larriva González" insignia

Universidad Politécnica Salesiana president, Father Javier Herrán Gomez, was awarded the "Doctora Guadalupe Larriva González” insignia by Cuenca’s District Council in a ceremony held last April 12th in honor of Cuenca’s 457^th foundation anniversary.

During the meeting held on the 28th of March, Cuenca’s District Council decided to acknowledge Father Javier Herrán’s outstanding work in culture, science, and social areas by awarding him the "Doctora Guadalupe Larriva González” insignia.

Councillor Joaquin Peña awarded the UPS president with the insignia. The ceremony took place in the city’s meeting hall with the presence of the city’s main authorities, national authorities, and special guests.

Doctor Darquea spoke on behalf of the people who had received an award to thank the authorities. He talked about each one of the people who had been awarded, and this is what he said about Father Javier Herrán Gomez: “education is the foundation to enhance human beings, and because of this, Javier Herran Gomez has been awarded the "Doctora Guadalupe Larriva González” insignia which represents culture, as well as social and scientific transcendency.

Several people from Universidad Politécnica Salesiana attended this ceremony to congratulate Father Javier Herrán Gomez for receiving the award.
