New University authorities take office

On Wednesday, September 10th the University board and Father Jorge Molina, Salesian Inspector, held a special ceremony for the new authorities that will assume office during the 2014 – 2019 period. Father Javier Herrán Gómez will continue in office as UPS President; Luis Tobar Pesántez will be the new General Academic Vice President, and César Vásquez Vásquez will be the new UPS-Cuenca Vice president.

Father Jorge Molina congratulated the new University authorities and asked them to work vigorously for the University so it can keep developing and providing the community efficient services. The new authorities then took oath and assumed office.

Father Javier Herrán Gómez thanked the Salesian authorities for their trust and for giving him a new opportunity to serve the University. Luis Tobar and César Vásquez also thanked the Salesian community and said they are committed to working hard so the university can continue its progress.

Father Javier Herrán Gómez acknowledged the former General Vice President Edgar Loyola Illescas for his job during office, and named him the new National postgraduate director.

Finally, the University board thanked and congratulated Dr. Loyola for his role as General Academic Vice President and also congratulated the new authorities.
