Reading techniques workshop

The Pedagogy major at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana- Cuenca organized a Reading techniques workshop on: Reading comprehension, strategies for comprehension, expository, descriptive and argumentative texts, inferential and critical reading, punctuation, vocabulary, writing process, new technologies and language, lexical skills, and writing of scientific texts.

The workshop was conducted in the Monseñor Luis Alberto Luna Tobar Auditorium by Professor Carlos Perez who has vast experience in this field.

Students who attended realized that reading without completely understanding and without being able to write or talk about what they have just read is a waste of time. This course was fundamental to foster reading and writing, which are basic skills in academia.

After the workshop, students said they learned new things that they would now be able to apply in the university. Victoria Jara, the Pedagogy director, was pleased to see so many students at the workshop and said the aim was to provide students with new learning tools which will allow them to improve their learning process and perform better during their studies.
