2014 Project Contest

Around 60 projects designed and assembled by Electrical, Electronic, and Systems engineering students, along with their professors' academic guidance, were displayed at the "2014 Project Contest" in the university's laboratories under the following categories: Basic implementation, advanced implementation, and innovation.
 
The organizers said the aim of this scientific - academic event is for students to show the projects they have worked on during this semester, and to foster the habit of creating projects which can be used immediately.
 
The jury congratulated the students on the creativity and ingenuity in their projects. These were the results:
 
Basic implementation: 1st place- Retro Snake en 3D, by Brayan Fabián Peñafiel Pinos and Jorge Sebastián Escobar Hinojosa. 2nd place- Cotton Candy machine with a PID controller, by Ismael David Villamagua Sarmiento, Christian Marcelo Córdova Villareal, Esteban Mauricio Huillcatanda Sacasari and Darío Xavier Gómez Bravo. 3rd place- Home Automation using X10 Protocol, by Sandra Catalina Chacha Quille, Patricio Josué Parra Abad and Manuel Rigoberto Sagbay Asitimbay.
 
Advanced implementation: 1st place- Smartclothes, by Andrés Francisco Murillo Peñafiel. 2nd place- Integral solutions in communications, by Gabriela Granda, Edison Barzallo, Juan Carlos Riofrio, Cristina Jaramillo and Paola Pintado. 3rd place- Podoscopio by Pablo Cabrera and Juan Carreño.
 
Innovation: 1st place- Fuzzy Mixer, by Víctor Hugo Pulla Sánchez and Adrián Fabricio Neira Pillaga. 2nd place- MAKI v .2.0, by José Luis Vargas Pérez, Luis Fernando Yunga Patiño, Jorge Luis Matute Salinas and Luis Fernando Cajamarca Guambaña. 3rd place- Monitoring and Detection of CO2, by Christian Ricardo Jiménez Coronel and Xavier Felipe Ochoa Parra
 

Here are the results for the systems engineering contest: 
 
Basic Implementation: 1st place- BOB 1.0, by Pablo Andrés Lema Sarmiento and Freddy Rolando Otavalo Ayala. 2nd place- Turtle Light, by Christian Oyola, Renato Rubio, Héctor Urdiales, and Byron Calle. 
 
Advanced implementation- prototypes: 1st place- Story book with games for Autistic children, by Ana Isabel González Carrasco and Jorge Andrés Galán Mena. 2nd place- Visual stimulation, by Cristian Hernán Vásconez and Iván Fernando Yuquilima Alvarado
 

Computer recycling: 1st place- a computer laboratory for a school in Giron, by Johnny Javier Argudo Parra and Wilson Mauricio Guamán Murillo. 2nd place- computer recycling campaign at UPS- Guayaquil, by Jonnathan Andrés Zhunio Morocho and Jonnathan Israel Oyervide Ríos
