In order to continuously improve the academic quality in the university, professors in the field of administration, engineering, philosophy and communication ended their PHD studies in Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Peru), Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia) and Universidad de Huelva (Spain). In our branch campus in Guayaquil the professors who obtained their doctoral degree were: Priscila Paredes, Raul Alvarez, Victor Iza, Angel Gonzalez and Angela Flores; and in our branch campus in Cuenca: Hector González and John Calle.

They started this journey about four years ago; during that time they had to go to the university to attend class, carry out research and present their thesis.

Priscila Paredes presented the research entitled: "Human management and skills development for people with disabilities working in the province of Guayas-Ecuador", where she made an in-depth analysis of the labor management of people with disabilities, seeking to develop competence such as Self-control, achievement orientation, flexibility or adaptation.

Raúl Álvarez, presented the thesis titled "Service quality as a cause in customers' buying process in supermarkets in the city of Guayaquil modeled by structural equations", with this research an analysis was made on the components of the service and its incidence in the generation of loyalty in the customers of supermarkets in the city.

Víctor Iza, presented the research called "Alterity and response in higher education from the philosophical proposal of Emmanuel Levinas", where he studied people from their centrality, to understand their behavior within society and relationships with others. During the support of the thesis Iza was awarded the "Magna Cum Laudem" award for the importance and significance of his scientific contribution.

Ángela Flores, presented the research "Ubiquitous learning system in virtual environments for Universidad Politecnica Salesiana", where she analyzed the implementation of technology in the teaching and learning process in an appropriate way, allowing the correct educational development in the classroom.

Ángel González presented the research entitled: "The importance of associativity and its influence on the sustainable development of cocoa producers in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador: proposal of a strategic plan for a cocoa association". This research was about associativity and its relation with sustainable development, where the purpose was to investigate the effectiveness of associating and achieving economic aspects, quality of life, thus raising awareness to reduce the impact on the environment when there are activities related to cocoa production.

Héctor González, presented a study in Communication in graduate and postgraduate studies of universities in Ecuador and Bolivia: comparative vision of the current status and methodological prospective, which analyzes the management of communication research in Ecuador and Bolivia in undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

John Calle, presented his thesis based on the integration of efficient thermal solar systems to obtain sanitary hot water and reduce environmental pollution in Cuenca. The idea is to determine the feasibility of integrating solar systems to produce sanitary hot water in the province of Azuay, with the purpose of reducing the environmental pollution which is caused by using fossil fuels.
