English- a requirement to graduate

In order to guarantee student’s proficiency in English, the higher University Council at UPS has decided that:

  • Once students have completed 60% of their studies, they must have passed all the English levels established in their curriculum.
  • Those students who have not passed the corresponding English levels must appeal to an “Emergency Plan” that will allow them to continue taking other subjects during this semester.
  • On line registration: for the following semester (period 46) students will be able to register for english classes online through www.ups.edu.ec according to schedules offered by the language institute. (English will not interfere with the regular subjects set in the curriculum)
  • Students who have failed English previously, must register personally at the language institute office.

 

Language institute opening hours:

  • Campus El Girón: from 8am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm (Bloque A, third floor).
  • Campus Sur: from 8am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm (Bloque C, first floor).
  • Campus Kennedy: from 3pm to 8pm (Administrative building).
