Event which recognizes good communication practices for sustainability and environmental care

The communication undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held an awards ceremony to acknowledge the winners of the “Premios Generación Verde UPS 2023”; it is the second edition of this event which recognizes good communication practices for sustainability and environmental care in public and private organizations. 

 

Recognitions for companies in the private sector:

 

•    Unilever Ecuador - company that carries out campaigns and communication programs for sustainability through its own media, platforms and sustainability campaigns for its internal public, which generates awareness for the benefit of the environment.

•    Papeleria Nacional- company that disseminates content that promotes care and positive impacts towards the environment.

•    Grupo DIFARE - company that develops sustainable communication campaigns and programs to educate and create awareness among its employees and their families. It is involved in caring for biodiversity and good practices for a more sustainable world.

•    URVASEO - company that carries out sustainable communication actions on recycling, environmental protection and nature. It also participates in environmental programs for the proper disposal of waste in schools and high schools in the city.

Schools and means of communication:

•    Unidad Educativa Bilingue de la Inmaculada - for its project for the collection and classification of plastic waste and reusable material in beaches.

•    Academia Naval Guayaquil – for is recycling and environmental projects such as planting trees in order to create awareness in students.

•    Colegio Letras y Vida – for its program on environmental education

•    Radio RTP Ecuador – for its segment “ECOVERDE” on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which presents content on the environment and nature

•    Radio I99 – for its content during its programs

•    Diario El Universo – for its exclusive content in its Ecology magazine which is published every Sunday

•    Diario Expreso – For the content in its Sunday magazine “SEMANA”

•    Ecuavisa – For its program “Ecuaterra” which has important content on the environment

•    Revista Vistazo – for its valuable content on documentaries and coverage on sustainability, circular economy and the environment

•    INTI TV – its programs are 100% on the preservation of our planet

•    Programa Azul Sostenible – programs on marine ecosystems


Marlene Mosquera, director of the communication and multimedia design undergraduate programs, explained that students, as future professionals, were able to gain experience on the organization of these type of events. “The aim of having students organize the event was that they gain this type of experience on planning, logistics, research and journalism”, she said.
