From the 13th to the 16th of June, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Quito held the International Congress on Administration, Accounting and Leadership. The aim of the congress was to have a place for professors, researchers and students to present their research results.

The congress was organized by the Management and Leadership, Accounting, and Business Administration majors, UPS president Javier Herran, the university's vice president in Quito Jose Juncosa, the university's head of research Juan Pablo Salgado, Tania Chicaiza and Hector Sarmiento from Politécnico Colombiano attended the opening ceremony on June 13th.

During his speech, Father Javier Herran highlighted that the university's roots are marked by the creativity of an entrepreneur, as is Don Bosco. "We are happy the university is holding this congress because we will learn how to be better managers in a complex, multiple and unpredictable society, where answers become theory thanks to successful practices and because we will share experiences of success, social learning and transparency", he said.

Jose Juncosa said "University Administration and university management, far from being a space of recipes and compulsive production of norms, it is a living matter in which our ability to build a shared management based on responsibility is in play"

After the opening ceremony, they talked about the "Teuken Bidikay" journal, a latin amercian publication that gathers professors, researchers and students from Mexico, Colombia and Argentina. It is a project that is co-edited internationally and it is used to socialize and intellectual confrontation for the latin amercian community. The name is a combination of the mapuche language (teuken = act of thinking) and the emberá-katío language from Colombia (bidikay = research, discover).
