In tribute to professionals who have played a remarkable role within their field in 2014, the social communication, journalism and likeminded institutions association in Ecuador (ASO.CO.PE), presided by Cesar Andrade Martinez, UPS professor, presented UPS-Guayaquil Vice President Andres Bayolo Garay the award for "Best University authority of the year".

The event, held in Grand Hotel Guayaquil last February 27th, awarded several individuals who have supported social, economic and educational development, such as Paul Carrasco Carpio, Prefect of Azuay, who was awarded "best Ecuadorian citizen of the year", Carlos ¨Pólit Faggioni, General Controller of State, who was awarded "institutional merit", and Domenica Tabacchi, vice mayor of Guayaquil, as "woman of the year".

The university and its staff would like to congratulate Andres Bayolo for this award which represents a commitment for everyone who makes up the university and the salesian family to aim towards the same goal: to educate people with personal values and academic excellence for society.
