The university's Head of Research and the Italian Network of Technology Transfer Offices of Universities and Public Research Organizations (NETVAL), held the second part of the Technology and Knowledge transfer course from the 26th to the 28th of April in the university's three branch campuses in Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito.

The first part of this course was held in February, when UPS researchers attended talks led by Italian experts from NETVAL about the assessment and impact of university research in the economic, business, public and financial sector.

The aim of the second part of this course is to learn about and analyze the impact of research conducted by UPS professors and research groups in society.

Four renowned Italian speakers in the academic and research field will lead the talks:

•    Dr. Andrea Piccaluga: Professor of Knowledge Management in Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa.

•    Dr. Riccardo Barberi: Professor of Applied Physics in Università della Calabria.

•    Dr. Riccardo Pietrabissa: Professor of Industrial Bioengineering in Politécnico di Milano.

•    Dra. Alessandra Baccigotti: Head of the intellectual property and knowledge transfer office in Università di Bologna.

The aim of the "knowledge and Technology Transfer" Conference was to use different means to adapt knowledge, results and skills that have been acquired in the research groups and adapt them to socioeconomic needs.

For Juan Pablo Salgado, Head of Research at UPS, professors and research groups express their commitment to research by generating projects that can benefit society.

The courses were taught in English in order to improve attendees' experience in the research field.
