"Inculturación de la Iglesia en el pueblo indígena de Riobamba".

UPS officials launched the book "Inculturación de la Iglesia en el Pueblo Indígena de Riobamba" written by Father Juanito Arias. Father Romulo Sanmartin presented the book and said it is very well structured and focuses on several major events of indigenous enculturation. Father Romulo spoke about how the topics in the book are so well written and simple so that everyone who reads it can understand. He added that the book presents a change in the methodology of theology.

Father Juan Bottasso said the book is not about Monsignor Proaño, but it does write about him and how he is related to the great meeting of the indigenous community in Riobamba. Father Botasso said he hopes this research continues because times are changing and there are other challenges. He highlighted the capability of Father Juanito Arias to efficiently describe the reality of the indigenous community in Riobamba.

Father Estuardo Gallegos said the most interesting part of the book was how it was divided into three parts: the first about the reality of indigenous people in the province of Chimborazo, the second about teachings and the third part about choosing theologians. At the end he suggests there be a fourth part about the accumulation of experiences on interculturality in the indigenous community.

Finally, Father Juanito Arias thanked the university officials for all their support and also thanked the priests who took part in the book launch.
