On November 13th and 14th, the university's distance and virtual learning department (UNADEDVI for its acronym in Spanish) led a meeting on online learning which was attended by professors from the university's three branch campuses.
Some of the topics of the meeting were: the progress of the university's educational model, the pedagogical model for online learning, presentation of the operational structure of the online learning mode.
The speakers were: Fernando Pesantez Avilés, general vice president; Ángela Flores, general academic coordinator; Wilson Quintuña, academic coordinator in Cuenca and Pablo Farfán, Director of UNADEDVI.
The objective was to establish the virtual education model at UPS, as well as find ways to make students more effective during the online learning process, solve any doubts and inconveniences of technological use that students may have so that they can suitable conditions to learn.
There were several conclusions at the end of the meeting such as working on the definition of specific processes for online education for Anthropology, Intercultural Bilingual Education and Theology programs, as well as Online subjects of Oral and Written Communication and Projects.
Father Javier Herrán, UPS president, stated that the university will create a structure that will exclusively respond to online education, its students, and its processes.
